St. Mary’s Amazing Greys is a group organized with the purpose of spiritual and social activities. Currently the group meets the second Monday of the month for noon mass followed by a potluck luncheon in the Father Fisher Hall. We try to have a speaker or a topic of discussion for our gatherings. The group was very proud of the “Advent Prayer Service” we sponsored in December. Individuals interested in information may call Jim Fielder at (734) 428-7150.

The St. Mary adult choir generally meets on a couple Wednesdays of each month to rehearse to sing at Sunday Mass. The Choir usually sings at the 10:30am Sunday Mass after the previous Wednesday evening rehearsal. If you are interested in joining the choir, please attend the Wednesday evening rehearsals (see the bulletin for specific dates). All adult parishioners past the 8th grade are welcome.

During the Christmas season, St. Mary also has a children’s choir sing at Mass on either Christmas day or Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are usually the first few weeks in December on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in the choir loft. Contact Benjamin Dahl, choir director, at benjaminjameson@gmail.com for more information.

For many people, the parish is a place where you go to Mass on Sunday, but rarely meet with fellow parishioners as parishioners the other six days of the week. People often experience the parish as the place where you get sacraments, but you don’t know others, and they don’t know you. Yet parishes are supposed to be communities of faith, schools of holiness. How can they be, if that’s our experience?

Parish-based small groups are intended to be a pathway to creating community within the parish. They’re often called “discipleship groups,” because they help form disciples, people who give their lives to Jesus through one another. They’re places where groups of six to eight people meet, usually in private homes, for prayer, personal faith-sharing, study, and fellowship. Meetings may be more or less informal, and meeting times and places can vary, depending on the group.

St. Mary’s is in the process of forming men’s and women’s groups. For more information on how to join one or start one of your own, please contact Bill Kwolek [bkwolek@comcast.net], Jennifer Nashif [jennifer.nashif@yahoo.com], or Frank Remski [skifm@excite.com].

Welcome to the ALTAR SOCIETY Section!
The Altar Society of St. Mary Catholic Church is a group of women that offer their services to assist the Pastor in maintaining the Altar, Sanctuary, and Sacristy. This includes cleaning and setting of the Altar for services, watering floral arrangements, caring for the vestments and Altar cloths, and purchasing the supplies we use at Mass.

Many other services are also performed throughout the year, some of which include:

  • Delivering plants to shut-ins during the Christmas season.
  • Sending cards to the sick.
  • Providing prayer cards and baptismal plaques to newly baptized infants in our Church.

Our fundraisers:

  • Bake sale booth at the Manchester Farmers’ Market
  • Christmas in the Village booth
  • Christmas wreath sale

Did you know all ladies 18 and over are automatically members of the Altar Society?
